Phew!

It is 1:32 in the morning, but I've finally managed to catch up on the four months of Gold Star Awards at C&C.  *basks in a newfound lack of guilt*  I have created the graphics, I have posted, I have updated the original recs, and I have notified all the authors.  From start to finish about four-and-a-quarter hour's work.

Obviously, it would have taken far less time if I'd done it one by one, the way things were intended.

Obviously.

*falls asleep*

So, as it turns out, I've discovered how to create a Livejournal feed for Coffee and Chocolate, meaning that you can have the recs feed into your Livejournal friends page!  OOOooo... so exciting!

When you first sign up, it might take an hour for the feed to start (it did for me for some reason, but that may be because I just created it) but never fear, the thing actually works.  It will also bunch the latest ten all together one after the other when you first "friend" it, but after that initial clump it's smooth sailing.  Pretty slick, I say.

So, to add the Coffee and Chocolate feed to your Friends Page, "friend" [profile] chocolatefic and (possibly) wait a little while.  It should show up on your friends feed in an hour or so at most.  (Exciting, eh?)  :P

See how I'm just getting it in under the wire, here? One more post in July so that the lonely one on July 5th doesn't get lonely?

*eep*

It's not really like I forgot about this, you know. It's just that I've had a plethora of other things going on, some of which included making sure other websites were regularly updated, forums were posted to, fringe shows were paid attention to, the occasional actual work to be done at work, and random plot bunnies were beaten into furry submission. And, well... this seemed somehow like the least important thing to be doing all the time.

I can't believe I'm actually seriously considering starting up a third one of these...

So. A few things have happened since the last time we talked, the most exciting and geekish one of those being the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows release. Can I just say I freakin' pwned the trivia? And if it had of been a proper trivia contest, where people were eliminated when they didn't answer correctly instead of just moving to the back of the line, you bet your shiny gold dollar I would have won all the glory.

Stupid random sorting. You can't sort people into Hogwarts Houses by having them reach into a bag and draw one at random, that's... so wrong. I've been sorted -- multiple times -- and every single time I am told the same thing, which is that I absolutely belong in Slytherin.

As if you couldn't have guessed.

And do you know what happened at the release party? I reached into the accursed little bag and drew Hufflepuff.

*groan*

At some point I may post an entire post about the last book and what it's like to have the final canon, but now is not that time and I'm sane enough to know that 98% of the 7 people who read my blog don't care, and Brenna's already heard my take so it seems almost useless to bother.

Other things? I'm starting to have serious freak-outs about my Fringe show and the sheer amount of work that has to be completed in the next 16 days. *freaks out*

I am excited that Brenda is so close to being home I can practically feel her hugging me. *adores Brenda from afar*

My new (prepare to consider the new heights to which geekness has risen) HP fanfiction recs site is doing well and getting some reasonably significant traffic considering I only just opened it (commence consideration of geekness heights). I'm getting about 100-150 unique visitors a day, which is pretty good, and some significant loyalty, which is cool. I'm completely shocked how many foreign non-English speaking countries are represented in my stats, though. I've got people from all corners of the Earth and then some visiting, and a startling number of them are looking for Remus/Tonks smut which I am a little low on. I feel like I should go and find some just to satisfy those people. Fortunately, most of them stay and read other things instead, so I'm not too worried about it.

Also, finally getting around to adding new links in my sidebar. Whoo-hoo me!

It's late, and I'm tired, and I know this is probably a disappointing post considering how long you waited for it, but thems the breaks, sweet-heart.

It's late and I can't sleep, thanks mostly to the fact that I've spent the entire weekend throwing my sleeping patterns out of wack working on a new website. Most of you who regularly read this little blog won't really care, because it's a Harry Potter fanfiction recs site and thus the embodiment of all that is incredibly geeky about me. I remind you all that every last one of you is a big, stupid geek too. *sticks tongue out*

It really wasn't just a regular website, this time around. I mean, I've coded lots of the suckers, but the last couple of years when I've been out of the loop 'cause of school I missed out of a whole new generation of web design.

Suffice it to say, I caught up this weekend. Thus the weird sleeplessness.

CSS would be a more brilliant tool if it wasn't so god-damned finicky. I've finally really started to understand why Internet Explorer sucks ass, though I have a feeling that I got off really easy. I can only imagine the true horror of it. And while I didn't entirely learn PHP this weekend, I did pick up enough that I can build CSS templates around PHP calls, so points for me. I'm not saying I could write the stuff, but I can read it well enough that I know what's going on.

Basically what I'm saying is I didn't break anything. There were a few moments where I was glad I had saved copies of all the blank templates so I could repair a tear or two, but mostly it went pretty well once I figured out the tear-inducing headache that div tags are.

Hey, look at that... Blogger is saving my post drafts automatically now, every thirty seconds or so! How useful!

Anyway, it's quarter after one in the morning and I have to be up at six thirty and I sure as heck can't sleep. I tried for about an hour and a half there before I gave up. Hopefully, I'll get to sleep before three, or I'm gonna be one tired puppy at the Fringe Workshop tomorrow...

Seriously, though. If I don't fall asleep before three, I'm probably gonna have to skip the workshop. Something tells me I'll have found the sleepy by then.
